Hagstrom Guitars is a guitar manufacturer from Sweden. Starting out in the early 1900’s making accordians, Hagstrom Guitars started to make guitars in the 1950’s and continued to do so until 1983 when production stopped but started producing guitars again in 2004. They produce electric and acoustic guitars and bass guitars. They are the first to produce the 8 string bass guitar and are also the first to produce a guitar/synthesizer hybrid. Hagstrom Guitars take their guitars seriously and every single one of their guitars looks great, plays great, and sounds awesome. Used by some of the biggest names of all time you can’t go wrong with a Hagstrom Guitar.
Hagstrom Pat Smear Signature Guitar Review By Mike Bradley
All Hagstrom electric guitars and basses have their patented H-Expande truss rod that provides tension at both ends and running the entire length of the neck, this patented system helps the guitar have a very low action and thin neck. This makes Hagstrom guitars the perfect guitars for “shredding” and other technically complex playing style. They also have a “Resinator” fretboard which is a synthetic fretboard that sounds and plays really well, not to mention extremely resistant to wear. Hagstrom Guitars are the first to experiment with this type of fretboard. Another very interesting thing about many of these guitars is their 6 position rotary pickup selector switch, it is a very nice change from the traditional 5 way, or 3 way selector.
