Today I want to talk about Fernandes Guitars, a Japanese guitar manufacturer that really makes some great instruments. The company began in 1966 making flamenco guitars and soon after they began to produce a full line of guitars, bass guitars, acoustic guitars, etc.. My best friend used to have a Fernandes guitar and it was always his “go to” guitar, he had lots of guitars that many that might be considered superior because they had a more respected and known name. His Fernandes was a solid built guitar that sounded great doing rhythm or lead.
Not only does Fernandes produce great guitars, but they have created something called the FERNANDES SUSTAINER. The FERNANDES SUSTAINER is a electronic system built into the guitar that works using pickups and enables controlled sustain. Fernandes also sells a kit that puts the FERNANDES SUSTAINER into any guitar. Features like infinite sustain are possible for one note or whole chords. There is also a harmonic mode the causes the pitch of the note to automatically rise in pitch to the 5th natural harmonic. Powered by a 9 volt battery it works even when the guitar is not plugged in and can be activated or deactivated with the flip of a switch.
The FERNANDES SUSTAINER comes in the Elite and Pro series of Fernandes guitars.
Fernandes guitars come in many styles and each has many sub models. It should be very easy to find your perfect guitar.
